Fireworks

For fireworks on the 4th of July, we tried to find a park on the beach or around the bay to watch.  However, I think we waited a little too late to go looking.  Everywhere we went was full and parking was ridiculous!  So Mat came up with an idea, albeit, a very red-necked idea!   We went to Sea World's parking lot to watch from there!  :)  See, red neck!
(We get free parking to Sea World with our year-passes, so it was quite a good idea!)

All this fuss was for Cristin, who wanted desperately to see fireworks!

We weren't really prepared for the whole 'tail gaiting' firework watching, so coolers and car trunks became our seats and beach towels our blankets!

Kat hid in our trunk and then popped out at Sarah and Paityn.  They all got a kick out of it!

Mommy Time!

Emma was Aunt Cristin's buddy!

Sarah wasn't too sure about the fireworks, but she was a trooper!

Em liked Grandpa's hat too!

Lucy had no idea what we were doing and why we weren't going anywhere!

Once and a while we could fool Lucy to go to any one but us - she just wasn't too sure about it.  That makes me sad :(  One of the downfalls of living so far away from family!

We waited around for almost two hours for the fireworks to start.  As it got closer, Emma got really nervous; she is really sensitive to loud sounds.  When the fireworks started up over Sea World, Em freaked out and ran to the car.  She almost had an accident because she was so freaked!  Lucy was also not impressed with the fireworks and was screaming!  So into the car she went.  Before the 15 min. firework show was over our family was all in the car and leaving!  Everyone else stayed until the show was over, but we watched the 'finale' in our rear view mirror!
It was sad that we waited so long for nothing, but it will be a night we won't soon forget! :)
