Emma is 5!

Emma's Birthday was on Monday, May 16th.  She has been looking forward to her birthday for along time! :)
Grandma and Grandpa Wilson (Mat's mom and dad) and Aunt Cristin and Sarah came down to visit (and bring all our remaining baby stuff down) for the weekend.  They treated Emma to a birthday dinner on Saturday, for which she picked IHOP!  The girl loves her pancakes, what can I say?!?  We decided that we would do cake and ice cream that night as well, since it would be more fun than just us!

Em got to open her presents from Grandma and Grandpa as well!  She was super excited about getting to open presents early.
She got a Tangled doll!
She also got a couple of new outfits for summer!  Yay!  She is outgrowing all of her clothes, so these are great!

Then it was time for cake!  Can you guess what she is really into right now?  :)
She loves the movie "Tangled" and went with me to pick out her cake so I would get it right!
We had to remind her to make a wish!
Happy Birthday Girl!

On Monday, her actual birthday, we let her open presents first thing in the morning.  Usually we make them wait until daddy gets home from work, but I knew it would be a looooonnnnggg day of her begging to open presents - since that is all she did on Sunday!  So, we made sure we were all up a few minutes early to let her open her presents before daddy left for work.
Kat gave her a Strawberry Shortcake doll.
She got some new jammers (to replace the ones that are her favorite but are falling apart!)
She also got a couple of new outfits from mom and dad, along with some new headbands.
She also got a new Baby doll that she can even take in the bath to play.  Figured it would be good for her to have a new baby doll to practice being 'soft' with!
She also got a new Barbie Doll.  Every girl needs a new Barbie on their birthday, right?

That night for dinner, her choice was McDonald's - of course!
Since we had already done the cake (even though we had lots left over, it was a bit mangled), I thought it would be funny to put a candle in her hamburger.  She laughed and laughed!  She thought it was pretty silly!
We sang to her again with her making a wish on her Birthday Hamburger!
She is still talking about us putting a candle in her Hamburger!
Happy Birthday to our big 5 year old!  I hope she enjoyed all her birthday fun!

Emma, we love you lots and are so proud of the big girl you are becoming!  You love school, tumbling, and playing with all your friends.  You are a good sister (when you want to be) and are excited to have a new baby to play with!  You are a smart girl and love learning your letters and numbers at school.  I just know you will love Kindergarten in the fall.  You are a big helper to mom and are her little buddy all the time!  Sometimes you can be stubborn, but you have had to be that way with an equally stubborn big sister!  I hope that stubbornness will help you in life and help you get the things you want and deserve!  Mom and Dad love you lots!!!
